Summary of Content:  

This module is part of the Net-Centric Computing theme in the School of Computer Science.

Understanding the concepts and challenges associated with modern cloud and mobile computing platforms, and their development and use, including:

Lectures - 10 x 1 hour (1 per week) Labs - 10 x 1 hour (1 per week) group seminars, where students will critically present selected papers/writings on new cloud/mobile technologies, designs and architectures

Education Aims:  To familiarize students with concepts related to cloud and (network-connected) mobile computing, giving them the opportunity to apply this knowledge by comprehending and critically assessing the wide range of commercial / academic literature in the area. In addition to technical vocabulary and background, this also incorporates aspects of critical thinking and presentation.
